Southern Museum – Web site
Situation
As part of a comprehensive rebranding program and marketing effort, the Southern Museum needed a Web site to communicate with its target audiences.
Action
O’Neill Communications built a multifaceted site featuring museum information, coupons, an archives section where historians can download historic documents, and a children’s section with games and quizzes. The site design extends the museum’s brand and reinforces its positioning as a leading chronicler of Civil War history and the development of railroading in the south.
Results
The Southern Museum’s Web site has proven to be an extremely efficient vehicle in communicating with prospective visitors and is second only to outdoor advertising in how visitors first learn of the museum. The site receives about 4,000 hits a month, and the online coupons are used more than any other couponing effort the museum undertakes.
