ATLANTA, GA – O’Neill Communications has been recognized by a national association representing 30,000 healthcare professionals for its role in producing a video produced on behalf of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA).
The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) presented its 2008 Constituent Organization Public Education Achievement Award to the Georgia chapter in May 2008, during the Academy’s Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX. GAPA was one of only five constituent organizations to be honored during the House of Delegates awards ceremony, taking home the first place prize for exemplary public relations and public education activities, with an emphasis on promoting the PA profession.
The award-winning video was written and produced by Carmel Hearn, an account manager at the Atlanta-based public relations and marketing firm. Hearn is a seasoned television producer, writer, and director, as well as previous recipient of both television and video industry awards.
“Carmel took the client’s vision to the next level with achieving a video that went well beyond expectations,” said Gordon O’Neill, president of the firm. “She consistently produces highly creative and effective communication messages that get exceptional results.”
The video also showcases recent successes of the 1000-plus member Georgia association that represents physician assistants across the state, including the “Increase Your PA” campaign and PA Month, programs that were also conceived, planned and executed by O’Neill Communications. The video was distributed to PAs across Georgia and is also available for viewing at www.gapa.net.
The AAPA has 57 chapters representing PAs in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and the federal services.
